WHO'S WHO?
Our active club has many members some with starring roles and others that seem to slip under the radar.
Everyone works exceptionally hard, carrying out their role often whilst holding down a full time job.

I got involved in helping the club originally as equipment officer when our son and daughter joined in September 1989. Since then I have held several posts as Secretary and Chairman of the club and I was also president of Dorset County for 18 months, I have had lots of opportunity to meet many people involved in the Sport and attend many events on all levels and the experience has been invaluable to me and the club. One of the best experiences was meeting Becky Adlington at the UK Schools Games when she had just arrived back from the Beijing Olympics after winning her Gold Medals.

I became secretary in September 2022 and have since done my timekeepers and am about to do my team managers training.
In my spare time I enjoy walking, reading and spending time with the family.

I have been involved with the swimming club since 2015 when my children joined. I now coordinate the club shop which sells club kit and swimming essentials.

We joined the Club in 2015 and both my children have loved being part of the Club. I joined the committee as Membership officer in 2022 and am keen to help the club progress and support our swimmers. Outside of swimming I enjoy walking, reading and, when they are not swimming, I can often be found on a riverbank supporting my children rowing.

I work for a youth development charity and see daily how important it is for young people to have a passion and purpose in their lives outside of school, especially something active. I believe that our swimming club provides this focus for our swimmers and am very thankful that we have this club in our community.

I have three children all of whom have swum to at least London Borough standard and who were members of a swimming club North London. My wife and I moved from London to Dorset three years ago as did our eldest daughter, husband and three grandchildren. All three of my granddaughters are now a members of the club. I have management background and want to do what I can to assist the club.

Samuel joined the committee in late 2023 as an independent representative and parent of a club swimmer. His profession is in strategic consulting and he is interested in supporting the decision making and sustainable development of the club.

We joined the swimming club in 2017 and love being part of the swimming community. Both of our daughters have enjoyed the training and the competitions, whilst gaining new friendships along the way. Swimming plays a significant part in our lives and I'm very glad to be supporting the club within the committee, to help ensure that the club continues to thrive!
