Wareham & District Swimming club is perfectly placed to serve swimmers throughout the Isle of Purbeck and has welcomed swimmers from further afield too. A small but striving club, with a long history of producing well rounded swimmers who have competed at all levels including in National competitions. Our thriving teaching sessions and very active Masters group offer something for all.
For our younger swimmers, assessments nights are held three times a year, to allow all new starters the same experience. The Head Teacher will give clear instruction to each swimmer and with their experience will place the swimmer in the best possible group/session.
Minimum criteria to join:
We welcome swimmers from the STA Angelfish series or from SE (ASA) Stage 5. We also ask that all swimmers are confident in the water and can:

Competently swim a full 25 metre length of Front crawl

Competently swim a full 25 metre length of Backstroke

Competently swim a full 25 metre length of Breaststroke
Our teaching sessions are an hour long, so your child will require the stamina to swim competently for about 45 minutes (with rest periods between lengths). If you have any questions about whether you child’s current ability meets these criteria please do not hesitate to ask!
