Badge Skills / Teaching

Not everyone likes to compete and we will support you in whichever direction you wish your swimming to take.

Here at Wareham & District swimming club we give the swimmers the option, to join our teaching side to the club or the competitive squads.

We follow the STA International learn to swim programme ( ILSP ) and will take swimmers from the angel fish series right through to the Platinum awards.

From age 13+ we can invite you on to poolside, to help the teachers and work towards the young volunteer award, then possibly onto taking a teaching qualification.

We hold an annual distance swim and this is the time to test yourselves and see how far you can swim without stopping. The distance badge series comprises a range of 20 awards that reward distance and stamina over distances from 5 meters to 5,000 and can be used for further incentive throughout the ILSP.
