Sponsors
I race for Total Fitness Bath my local triathlon shop run by Adrian Smith who’s always in the shop showing off his new bike and legendary grin and Andy Rolley the best bike mechanic around and still rather handy on two wheels himself.
I am actively searching for persons or organisations who would like to support me in my quest to reach Beijing in 2008. It costs in the region of £8,000 a year for me to train and race as a professional Triathlete however these expenses can be split into a number of categories and I would be keen to speak with any organisation that felt they could assist me in any one of these areas. I am particularly aware that sponsorship is a two way process and would hope to find sponsors with whom I can work closely to add value to their business and its marketing. Please do not hesitate to contact me info@triharry.co.uk if you would like any further information, a copy of my television coverage from 2005 or details of the sponsorship opportunities available. As an elite athlete I can offer your firm;
Triathlon can provide an attractive opportunity for sponsors; race kit can be branded with company logos which can be seen particularly prominently at the exit to the swim section. The sport is young and exciting, viewing figures for grandstand highlight that 1.5 million people watched each of the three races covered on the BBC in 2004. This figure is comparable to the viewing of sports such as rugby league and athletics. The BBC has committed to continue covering 3 to 4 events per year, with the possibility of increasing this in the future. In 2003 the Commonwealth games triathlon enjoyed 3 million television viewers and more spectators in Manchester than any other games event. The Olympics triathlon despite its early showing received 2.8 million viewers.
Triathlon provides a wide potential audience with approximately 50,000 people having started a race in Great Britain each year. This figure has tripled in the last three years. A national, monthly triathlon magazine, “220”, has a readership of 60,000. The majority of triathletes in the U.K are in the 30-50 age groups and are generally high achieving AB1 professionals with well above average disposable income.
